Courses and Workshops

Schedule of Art Classes for Fall 2017

You may register for courses August 28th, 2017 at the Sarto-Desnoyers Community Centre at 1335 Chemin Bord du Lac in Dorval from 5 to 9 PM. After the 28th, you can register at the SDCC reception area from Monday to Friday 8:30 – 4:30 PM. Payable by cheque made to the order of the Dorval Artists Association.

Course prices are as follows:

  • Children (6–12 years of age) $125.00 for 2 hour classes for a duration of 10 weeks.
  • Teens    (12-17 years of age) $125.00 for 2 hour classes for a duration of 10 weeks.
  • Teens and Adult Drawing Class $125.00 for 2 hour classes for a duration of 10 weeks
  • Adults (18 years of age and older) for 3 hour classes for a duration of 10 weeks
  •  D.A.A. member                               $140.00
  •  Dorval resident non- member            $155.00
  •  Non Dorval resident, non-member     $165.00


All classes are given in English in our newly renovated Art Studio located at S014B in SDCC however most of our teachers are bilingual.

 

 

 

 

 


 

Drawing and Watercolour: For those wishing to develop drawing and watercolour techniques.

Level:    Beginner and Intermediate

Time:    Monday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm

Duration: Sept. 18th to Nov 27th (No class Oct 9th-Thanksgiving)

Oil (Water soluble) and Acrylic: Learning about Art theory and simultaneously expressing your artistic ideas by painting with water soluble oils and acrylic paint.

Level:   Beginner and Intermediate

Time:    Wednesday from 9:00 to 12:00 or 7:00 to 10:00 pm

Duration: Sept. 20th to Nov 22nd

Drawing and Painting: For those who wish to learn colour theory, composition, techniques with references to art history and drawing using watercolour and acrylics.

Level:    Beginner to Advanced

Time:     Thursday from 9:00 – 12:00 and 1:00 to 4:00 pm

Duration: Sept. 21st to Nov. 23rd

Drawing for Adults and Teens: (2  hour class) For those wishing to learn how to draw or improve their drawing skills.

Level:    Beginner and Intermediate

Time:    Thursday 7:00 to 9:00 pm

Duration: Sept. 21st to Nov. 23rd

Teacher: Jérôme Guenette (bilingual)

 

Suggested materials: All required materials witll be provided for this course.

 

Oil (Water Soluble): For those wishing to develop their oil painting skills.

Level:    Advanced

Time:    Friday from 9:00 to 12:00

Duration: Sept.22nd to Nov 24th

Time: Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 and 12:00 to 2:00 PM or Sunday from 1:00 3:00 PM

Duration: Sept 23rd to December 2nd or Sept 24th to Dec. 3rd (No class on Oct 7th or Oct 8th, Thanksgiving)
