Congratulations to Patricia Belmar for her BFA degree from Concordia University, received in May 2014.

A word from Patricia: "I am proud to share with the DAA’s members that I obtained my BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) degree, Major in Studio Arts, from Concordia University. This has been a very exciting and rewarding experience. It represents an important goal to me that I have accomplished successfully. I look forward to the journey ahead of exploration and discovery; I am ready for it."

Congratulations to May Landerman Goodfellow who is the invited artist next October 15-17, 2009 at St-Paul Church in Lachine.


"LE FILDE L'EXCELLENCE" (11-23-2008)

Congratulations to Martha Markowsky was selected by the City of Lachine for the award of excellence in the arts for 2008. This honour was bestowed on Martha before an audience of over 300 people at the Centre St. Anne in Lachine on Sunday November 23, 2008. This award was in recognition of Martha's achievements in art as well as within the arts community of Lachine and across Canada. Pictured in the photo below is Mayor Claude Dauphin, with Martha accepting the award "Le fil de l'excellence 2008", and on the right, Councillor Jean-Francois Cloutier.

The city of Lachine has selected for their Christmas cards this year, the image from her original painting "Backyard Nostalgic Hockey" currently on display and available for sale during December at Tay River Gallery in Perth.


Society of Canadian Artists  (Nov.2007)

Congratulations to Susan Jillette who is proud to announce that she has been juried into the Society of Canadian Artists in November 2007. With this elected member status,she has now the priviledge of using the SCA designation after her name on her artwork.


March 2008

Congratulations to:
Susan Jillette has a contract to have some of her artwork reproduced on cards by Pierre Belevedere.

Susan also won the cover competition for NorthLight Art Books "Pop Art Too". She was chosen from 632 entries. It will be on the cover of the June issue with a small article on the inside. 45,000 copy distribution. It will also be featured on their WetCanvas website. A $2,000 art supply award also comes with the win. 

Susan also does artwork for Matt & Jennifer (sold in Europe and North America). They want a very Christmasy one for puzzles.


Certificate in Studio Arts (June 2007)

Congratulations to Patricia Belmar who wishes to share with the members of the Dorval’s Art Association one important step in her artistic career: She is graduating from Bishop’s University, this spring, on June 9th, 07. She is getting her Certificate in Studio Arts.

This has been a very exciting and rewarding experience for her! 

She has enjoyed so much that she decided to pursue her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, at Concordia University.  She is happy to say that she has been admitted to the program, so now she is committed to achieve her new goal.  She is sure that her experience in the Dorval’s Art Association has been a very important step in her artistic journey.
